hotel bar fun

If you’re not down with college kids, sports bars, or hipster hangouts where your choice of uniform is critiqued at the door. Let me suggest checking out most unique atmospheres I’ve seen in Boston for sometime. Its the monthly New lounge, at the Howard Johnson’s behind Fenway Park. This place has the tackiest ass murals, overrun lobster tanks, super cozy hotel furniture, and really good eclectic live music. Jeep Jack and record company records have been putting on these underrated and underground nights for several months. The acts have been totally inconsistent and hard to explain which is part of the appeal. Once month there was an acoustic hillbilly band, playing with an electronic band that had enough equipment to make you believe they were at a Pink Floyd post tour yard sale. There is something cool about out-of-towners mingling with local performers, and the usual weird characters who dress like they are in Vegas. The important thing is everyone gets it and is down to have a good time. Check out next month cause we all know these things do not last forever.
