When I listed musicians I enjoy seeing a bit back, I forgot all about my buddy Scott Damgaard! Oops! Well, last night I attended Scott’s CD release party for his new CD, The Cheese Stands Alone. It was held at the Green Dragon in Fanueil Hall. I got there around 7:30 to a packed house. Scott started off soon afterwards with a set of all of his original music. Over the course of the night, he had friends join him on stage to play some of his songs and some of theirs.
Scott stuck to the cheese theme all night by handing out lots of “cheesy” items. Things like Cheezits, Cheese & Crackers, cheeseballs, spray cheese, etc were handed out. There was also a platter of cheese available to everyone.
I’ve been going to see Scott for years now. He used to play down at Sissys all the time, so that’s where I met him many moons ago. It’s great to see him getting his music out there. It really seemed to me to be a labor of love.
I’ve been listening to the CD all morning and really enjoy it. And luckily, it has one of my favorites, Prince 4 A Day on it. So, if you are every out and about and see Scott playing, stop in and say hello, you’ll be glad you did.
