By Kevin G. Hall

WASHINGTON – One day after President Bush vowed to reduce America’s dependence on Middle East oil by cutting imports from there 75 percent by 2025, his energy secretary and national economic adviser said Wednesday that the president didn’t mean it literally.

The Littlest Extension

I was talking with a friend last night and found out that last night was supposed to be the last night of the Littlest Bar. The good news is that they have gotten a month extension. So, if you have not gone down to pay your respects to a Boston instituion, you have a little more time. This extension kicks off tonight with Scott Damgaard rocking some tunes. So, go visit Scott and the Littlest for one more good time before they close forever.

Sox On Sale

Just got this in the e-mail:

The Boston Red Sox will put 2006 single-game tickets on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28.

Tickets will be available for all games with the exception of the nine Fenway Park match-ups with the Yankees. In an effort to limit ticket access by scalpers to those highly sought-after games, those tickets–along with Green Monster and Right Field Roof Deck tickets–will be available at a later date through a random drawing process, details of which will be announced.

There is a two-game, four-tickets per game limit on all transactions.

He’s Back!

The Sox announced today that Theo is Back!. Many details still to come, but I was a Theo fan, so I am glad to hear he is back. Hopefully we can get a full team together now.

Smoking ban in NH?

It looks like New Hampshire – our friendly “live free or die” neighbor is planning on banning smoking in public places.

Smoking ban backers say citizens’ health is issue – Boston.com

I’m a smoker – yes, I know – and I honestly have to say that I don’t mind the smoking ban. Whenever I travel to places where smoking is allowed, I always: a) smoke too much and b) get unnerved when I see people lighting up. Funny how quickly habits change.

How many states are smoke free, anyway?

Three Day Weekend?

Well, if you do and you are looking for something to do on Sunday night, head down to Hennessy’s in Faneuil Hall. Groleau’s Basement is playing and it is always a good time. Groleau’s Basement consists of Tom Groleau (formerly of The Mudhens and The Flutie Brothers Band) along with 3 of the guys from Central Basement. They play a great mix of rock and pop from all periods including today. And there is even a menu available until 1AM. Stop by and say hello!

Tokyo Metblogs Question

The Metroblogging Tokyo folks are looking for comments on
what topics people are interested in reading about at their
site. If you have a minute, you might want to head over to their
site and post
a comment
. I really want to know if Tokyo has as many mutant monster attacks as we see on TV. And where is Chiba anyway?
