More on security and the DNC

Thanks, Tom Ridge.
I like this part of the article best –

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency will be using a $600,000 vehicle it purchased with a federal grant as a communications hub. With its reinforced sides and windows, it can be used to protect dignitaries in the event of a catastrophe, said Arthur Brown, the agency’s communications coordinator.
The vehicle has a microwave oven, a coffee maker, and a restroom and is designed to operate without an outside power source for up to seven days.

That’s fabulous, but what about the rest of us poor slobs?
Feh.

Some iron sheets welded on the side of my Altima, “A” Team style, and we’ll have our own “Boston.Metroblog Mobile” ?
Anyone got any *really* long life batteries?
