POETRY IN THE BOSTON AREA
Please allow me to introduce myself – some call me Ed – others call me expletives and some…well, some call me Wile E. Donkey. I post on a regular BLOG known as “The Outlaw Goatee” that serves the greater-metro-Boston area. Check it out at http://www.edwardjcarvalho.com/blog/blog_main.htm
If you haven’t already visited http://www.edwardjcarvalho.com then you would have no idea as to why I would be posting information about Boston poetry. If you have, then you’re already in the know and realize by now that I am a poet and live for those things poetic. I also live in North Quincy – that’s about 4 Red-Line stops outside the city. Each and every Monday, I hop on the ol’ Red Line and head to Cambridge for some of the area’s best poetry reading at The Out of the Blue Gallery (http://www.outoftheblueartgallery.com). This is a gathering known as the Stone Soup Poets and is recognized as the COUNTRY’s …yes, that’s right – the COUNTRY’S longest running consecutive poetry reading series with over 1700 nights on record and 33 years of poetry. The reading is taped for broadcast on Cambridge’s CCTV and features a wide-array of eclectic area talent. Not to be missed.
If you’re looking for other poetry events or writing resources in the area, stop by my site and see the POETRY RESOURCES LINK on the main homepage. I’m always up for adding new links to this site to keep the Boston poets / writers in the know.
