The following four events are taking place this month and may be of interest to you.
1. The Boston Arts Festival
The second annual Boston Arts Festival has been expanded from a one day event to a weekend of showcasing Boston’s best visual and performance artists. This is an opportunity to see over 60 Boston artists and craftspeople exhibiting and selling original works of art.
Date: Saturday, September 11 & Sunday, September 12

2. September 11 Day of Service and Civic Engagement Hosted by the National Service Alumni Network (NSAN) and Boston University
All Boston area alumni, staff, and corps members of foreign or domestic service programs (such as Peace Corps, VISTA, AmeriCorps, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Coro, etc) are invited to take September 11 as a day of service to our community.
What: Inspiring speakers and powerful workshops with hundreds of engaged Bostonians

3. RealTalk-New Frontiers of Boston’s Development: Exploring the Greenway & Waterfront realtalk
The RealTalk forum will feature a presentation by the Boston Redevelopment Authority on the development of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, followed by a discussion on how you can get involved and affect the future of Boston’s development.
RealTalk is a series of conversations about what young professionals and working adults can do to make a living, raise a family, and build stronger communities for us all.

4. New Bostonians Community Day
On September 22nd, Mayor Menino will host the 5th Annual New Bostonians Community Day at Boston City Hall. This event, which runs from 12 to 5 pm, provides a valuable opportunity for Boston’s ethnic communities to learn about city government and services and for us to demonstrate our commitment to strengthening ties with Boston’s diverse communities.
The city’s most visible celebration of immigrants and multiculturalism. Activities taking place throughout the day will include free immigration clinics, performances by musicians and dancers, multilingual tours of City Hall, and an “information fair” consisting of over 100 resource tables on topics including citizenship, housing, career development, entrepreneurship,
youth activities and educational opportunities.
