i am officially now an old lady

So, does anybody know what time Boston high schools let kids out? Since I’m around during the day now, I keep noticing packs of schoolkids around 1:30-2 p.m., and my old lady voice takes over, and I mutter, “Damn kids, blocking up the crosswalks… shouldn’t they be in school?” I thought maybe Brighton schools let out around that time, but then I was in JP today around 1:30 and some school was clearly ending its day. It just seems so early to me. During high school I had to be at school by 7:40 a.m. and I still didn’t get out until 2:10 p.m., and I’m (fairly) certain that all public schools in Massachusetts need to be in session for a certain number of hours per day, or per week, or something. I don’t remember.
So, either I am an old lady, or those kids are getting to school by 7 a.m.

I have the same reaction sometimes. I’m definitely an old man, according to my beloved. The other day we saw an advertisemnt for some pill for genital warts or birth control or something — I couldn’t tell exactly what the problem the pharmaceutical fixes, but the young actresses in the ad were definitely dealing with something sexual. I turned to A. and said “Hey, aren’t those girls a little young to be sexually active?” and she said “Their in their early twenties, you old crank. We were sexually active back then.”

That’s the Curly school. That is when the high school get outs – and it’s weird b/c the elementary school doesn’t end until 3. I don’t know what is up with the whole thing. My high school went from 8AM to 3PM. I didn’t realize what a LONG day that was!

that should be “gets out” not “get outs”. Maybe I need to go BACK to school. Jeebus.
