Some MLB consolation

Major League Baseball : 2005 Postseason Game Wrapup

There is some consolation in the Red Sox’s abysmal appearance in this year’s MLB playoffs – the Yankees didn’t make it to the ALCS either.

Interestingly, this all might be good – for me at least. Remember trying to work last October? Remember the late nights watching nail-biting baseball? Water cooler conversation about so-and-so’s pitching or the chances of us making a comeback? No worries, we can all be productive office workers!

At 3-2, the Patriots are having a tough time, and the Bruins are also coming into their own at 2-2.

The rains and dismal weather are surely a sign that Summer is over. Football and hockey, combined with chilly nights remind us that the Fall ain’t a bad time to be in Boston, don’t ‘cha think?

I love the fact that no matter what the RedSox do, they still compare themselves to the Yankees. Success in their season is still measured by things like “well, the Yankees didn’t make it to the ALCS either.” Boston may have gotten over on them once, but the curse is still alive and in the heads of all the fans.
