Does anyone know of a good kitty vet in Boston? Or even better, a vet who makes house calls? My cat is licking off his own fur WHICH IS CHARMING and he absolutely hates the vet. Hates!

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be most appreciative.

Members of our synagogue suggested the following:

Commonwealth Vet (2285 Commonwealth Ave., Auburndale, (617) 332-7030): especially Dr. Denk. Lots of recommendations

Chestnut Street Animal Hospital (334 Chestnut St., Needham, (781) 444-8838)

Metro Cat Hospital, (1630 Beacon St., Brookline, (617) 566-7297)

Wayland Animal Clinic (6 Winter St., Wayland, (508) 653-1096) Dr. Kyrka

    Dr. Sheryl Swankin (Lexington)

Rotherwood Animal Clinic: (78 Winchester St., Newton, 617-244-4367) especially Dr. Devin Scrutin

Fresh Pond Animal Hospital, (15 Flanders Rd., Belmont, (617) 484-1555) especially Dr. Joel Kaye

We used to take our cats to Commonwealth Vet, but didn’t love them and never saw Dr. Denk. Now we use Rotherwood Animal Hospital. Right up the street since we moved and they seem great (though Goose and Duncan have never really been sick).

Hey, sounds like your cat is allergic to something… My cat does the same thing.

Have you try to change his/her diet?

We bring our two cats to Dr. Bruce Weiner at Cambridge Veterinary Care. They also have an office on Huntington Ave in Boston (along with their main office on Mass Ave near Porter in Cambridge). He’s a very nice and good doctor who has cleared up a number of cat issues for us in the past.
